History

Born in 1969 in Livorno, Oberdan Chimenti has devoted his life to the sea, starting on pleasure boats as commander, traveling worldwide on luxury vessels. He oversees renovation work on boats at the end of each season, a common responsibility among captains in the industry. Owners also to commission the construction of a new vessels, where the experience of a skilled commander is invaluable.

Within a few years, Oberdan Chimenti found himself at the helm of a legitimate enterprise, overseeing a team dedicated to the construction of boats. This is where the experience in the construction of composite hulls for both motor and sailing boats was born on behalf of shipyards such as Mangusta and well-known designers such as Vismara.

2002

Development of the brand.

In 2002 Oberdan Chimenti developed the idea of opening a shipyard in Sardinia just outside the Costa Smeralda. Various favorable conditions allow the creation of a structure in which it is possible to set up fast and exclusive tenders for large pleasure boats, some also on behalf of Wally Yacht and in the meantime start a small series of highly appreciated custom boats.

2007

The birth of the Maori Yacht project

After just five years, the small shipyard born from the resource fulness of Commander Oberdan Chimenti becomes abrand known throughout the world: Maori Yacht. Boats with clean and essential lines, extremely personalized and with an unmistakable style. Maori 50 is born.

2017-2018

Maori 78 and 54

The inception of the Maori Yacht project marks an exciting collaboration between Chimenti, Studio Marco Ciampa, and Studio Nauta Design, resulting in the creation of Maori 78 and LIMO cutting-edge designs with luxurious features, setting a new standard in marine craftsmanship. In 2018, the Maori 54 ft was created through the collaboration between Chimenti and Studio Ciampa. This sleek and sophisticated yacht quickly became a symbol of luxury and innovation in marine design. With its striking aesthetics and state-of-the-art technology, the Maori 54 ft captured the attention of yacht enthusiasts worldwide. The vessel seamlessly blended form and function, offering an unparalleled experience on the water. Its spacious deck and elegant interiors provided a perfect setting for both relaxation and entertainment, making it ahighly sought-after choice for those seeking both adventure and comfort at sea.

2019-2023

Maori 64, 80 and 125

Chimenti and Studio Marco Ciampa enhanced the 54 from 2017, refining its horizontal aesthetic for greater sophistication. The new 64 features dynamic lines, a spacious stern, and meticulous attention to detail, showcasing intricate craftsmanship and aesthetic improvements over the previous model. The Maori 78 model evolves into the Maori 80, combining remarkable performance with thoughtful functionality. Maori 125 was launched in the spring of 2022, this stunning vessel features a dramatic and bold design that sets her apart from all others. Marco Ciampa's visionary design studio crafts the remarkable exterior lines, complemented by NavalHEAD International's architectural and engineering expertise. Crafted with unwavering precision, the Maori 125 embodies a long-range explorer ethos, employing cutting-edge vacuum-bagged GRP/carbon fiber infusion. This technique, trimming weight while enhancing strength, ensures peak performance on vast waters. Its V-shaped, vertical bow and sleek curvature not only boasts striking aesthetics but also delivers unparalleled stability and adept handling, even in challenging seas. 

2022-2024

Maori 46, 86

In 2023, Maori introduced its new 46 model, a sporty and contemporary center console day cruiser that offers overnight accommodations for two to four individuals. Designed by Mario Ciampa, the creative force behind all Maori yachts, the 46 maintains the signature style and essence of its sister models, closely resembling the 54 model. The initial units of the Maori 46 were launched with a single cabin interior; however, a two-cabin version is also available. The Maori 80 transforms into the Maori 86, showcasing meticulous attention to finishes, details, materials, and color palettes, making it a dream. The thoughtfully designed outdoor spaces, coupled with contemporary interiors, create a yacht that maintains a strong connection to the water while exuding a sophisticated ambiance.
